To understand the advertising coordinator position you must know an advertising coordinator is in charge of organizing and arranging advertising for print media such as newspaper and magazines. The advertising coordinator is in charge of coordinating schedules and promotions, they have the responsibility to be sure the client is one hundred percent satisfied, it is also the coordinators’ duty to follow the project to satisfactory completion. They maintain client relationships to ensure they are happy with the advertising campaign and the directive the advertising campaign is taking.

An advertising coordinator typically holds a bachelor's degree in advertising or has taken courses related to advertising. They must be familiar with the advertising industry and the practices and procedures within the industry. Advertising coordinators understand the in and outs of the advertising industry. They rely on their experience and knowledge of the industry to plan the advertising campaign and accomplish the advertising campaign goals. Typically the advertising coordinator reports to a supervisor or manager.

Advertising coordinators must possess certain personal skills when entering the advertising field these skills include, being excellent listeners, good communicators, communication skills are so important to convey clients’ thoughts properly this ensures they are satisfied with the advertising campaign. Working in the advertising field as a coordinator, they must be a team player, one must work well with others, and be able to convey their ideas and have others work with you to perfect them. A professional in this field needs to be deadline driven and work very well under pressure.
