Advertising Coordinator Jobs

An advertising coordinator is a professional who provides support to an advertising department and other people surrounding the division in various matters that affect advertising. He or she is also involved in market research, marketing plan development, media buying, and writing, as well as in the coordination of the entire marketing process, from concept to execution to follow-up. Responsibilities for the post include coordinating marketing materials, working directly with ad operations and ad administration departments, scheduling insertion orders, and accurately tracking ad revenue. The position requires handling multiple tasks relating to several projects at once, providing advertising sales support to account executives, assisting with other administrative tasks, communicating with clients/ad agencies, coordinating with marketing and research departments to develop sales presentations/mailers, and completing "requests for proposals" from agencies. Similar roles have titles such as advertising assistant, advertising executive, advertising representative, administrative assistant (advertising), and the like.
This type of position may be available with any organization that has an advertising team of 10 or more members. The crux of this job is to simplify operations in a complex advertising environment. A high school diploma may be sufficient to qualify for these support jobs. Excellent attention to detail, the ability to prioritize work, an appealing personality, and excellent communication skills are key requirements for these positions.
