Classified Advertising Jobs
Classified advertisements are generally seen in newspapers, magazines, and on websites. Because they typically involve no significant graphic content, the job duties of classified advertising positions are fairly straightforward. Among the positions associated with classified advertising are classified advertising sales representative, account manager, classified advertisements director, inside sales representative, and outside sales representative, among others. The activities performed by sales executives include identifying prospects, calling them and informing them about offers, convincing them to buy ad space, and coordinating with other departments. In most cases, fixed revenue targets are assigned to each sales representative, with each representative reporting to an account manager. The account manager, in turn, reports to the director for classified advertising. As classified advertising accounts for most of the revenue a periodical generates, these openings are typically well paid.
