Graphic Designer Jobs

Graphic designers plan and create visual solutions to communications problems and for production of animated ventures. They find the most effective way to convey what the company wants to say in print, electronic, and film media using a variety of graphic mediums such as color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques. Graphic designers create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on one's knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts. Graphic designers also determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type. A number of graphic designers also develop material for web-pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects. Graphic designers also may produce the opening and the ending credits that appear before and after television programs and movies.
The work demands creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines. The work also demands artistic sensibility and technical skill. A bachelor's degree is required for most entry-level and advanced graphic design positions. Associate degrees and certificates in graphic design also are available from 2-year and 3-year professional schools.
