The USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism s Office of Public Affairs is seeking a Digital Coordinator to join its team.

The Digital Coordinator will provide day-to-day administrative oversight of USC Annenberg s primary web properties, including (one of USC s largest websites). Secondarily, the position will have administrative oversight of USC Annenberg s newsletter distribution and several key digital assets for marketing the school s master s programs including email distribution, online forms and other campaigns.

Reporting to the Digital Manager, the Digital Coordinator will be an essential member of the digital distribution team and will help craft and execute a refined, user-friendly, marketing-driven and goals-oriented online presence that will drive the school's public profile forward.


Provide day-to-day administrative oversight of USC Annenberg s primary website, including content posts, updates and other revisions.

Post and edit new content provided by the creative content team, as well as content edit requests from stakeholders throughout the school. This content includes new pages, content revisions, image editing and news stories.

Edit photos and other imagery for new content and content revisions.

Organize content on Annenberg s primary website through adding accurate and relevant metadata as well as logical, intuitive content categorization and arrangement.

Work with the Digital Manager and creative content team to layout and build new site sections, pages and features as well as refining existing content.

Make recommendations to content creators and stakeholders regarding copy formatting, image selections, placement and editing.

Participate in the ongoing design and development of Annenberg s primary website by providing feedback on web design revisions, architecture and feature improvements.

Conduct quality assurance (QA) testing for website revisions and new features.

Conduct regular evaluations of website functionality to determine return on investment and effectiveness.

Track analytics and traffic across all websites on an ongoing basis to understand trends and inform best practices that improve SEO and performance.

Meet with and build relationships with content editors and other stakeholders throughout the school to assist with content creation and edit requests.

Assist with training Annenberg s web editors, when applicable.

Maintain Annenberg s primary website user and editor documentation.

Create and oversee school s segmented e-newsletter distribution to students, faculty/staff, alumni and parents as well as the school s email marketing campaigns, including campaigns with curated content from creative content team.

Design, create and administer online forms for marketing initiatives, applications, surveys and other internal projects.

Undertake special projects and assignments and other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated attention to detail, consistency and accuracy.

Proven proficiency in posting, editing and administering content in websites driven by Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Drupal, WordPress, Squarespace, etc.

Understands the capabilities and limitations of web technologies as well as the design and development process.

Working knowledge of web technologies, HTML, CSS, UI/UX and web best practices.

Demonstrated image editing skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) or similar graphic editing tools.

Working knowledge of creating email marketing campaigns in email marketing services such as Constant Contact and MailChimp.

Demonstrated knowledge of key SEO principles and web analytics.

Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain close working relationships with academic leaders, colleagues, faculty, staff, students, and supporters.

Ability to initiate activities independently and organize, prioritize and complete work in a timely manner amidst competing deadlines and requests.

Team player, outstanding interpersonal communication skills and self-starter. Works collaboratively with colleagues, clients and vendors.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Expertise:

Proficient in writing HTML and CSS.

Experience administering content within a Drupal-based website.

Basic graphic design skills.

General project management knowledge.

Experience creating and managing online forms (Formstack, Google Forms, etc.).

Preferred Education: Bachelor s degree in marketing, computer science, advertising, business, communications, or related field.

Preferred Experience: 3 years, Combined work experience and education as equivalent.

Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in Web page design, Web site management and Web graphic design. Knowledge of Web programming techniques and protocols. Knowledge of multiple operating systems.
