Director of Sales Engineering, Google Technical Services, Velocity
The Google Technical Services Velocity team’s mission is two-fold. First, they aim to make mobile web faster and more engaging for millions of users through close partnerships with Google’s top 1,000 customers, and more scaled engagements with all other segments of customers. Second, they help bring Google Assistant to non-Google devices and services (e.g., TV, speakers). These initiatives are critical for Google’s future growth, and require high-velocity decision-making with many teams across Google.
You love Google Assistant and have a passion for hardware devices. You love to work in a fast pace environment helping to build for the future and enjoy leading a team. Google Technical Services is looking for a Director who will engage with partners to build Google Assistant Enable Devices.
You are an entrepreneurial, results-oriented, customer-centric leader who will manage technical workshops with business prospects, understand and assess customer requirements, prepare and present Google Assistant offerings, and provide recommendations for optimal solutions required to enable Google Assistant on devices.
As the leader of this team, you will also be responsible for hiring and leading a team of exceptional solutions sales engineers to grow this business.

Be the technical expert in strategic assistant agreement negotiations and workshops, providing both Business Development and Partners technical guidance in addition to leading technical design sessions.
Provide final recommendation to Google internal teams (Business Development, Product, Engineering) for optimal user experiences and commercial needs, including how these pieces will work with key Google platforms (i.e., Android Things, Android TV, Chromebooks), and partner devices.
Establish business operational processes and core metrics for success.
Hire and lead a team of exceptional solutions sales engineers.
10 years of people leadership experience.
5 years of sales engineering, product management, engineering management, or customer engagement experiences.
Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Networking protocols.
Experience with Hardware Peripherals (e.g., HDMI, USB, SDIO, NAND, etc.).
Experience with embedded Linux and device drivers.
Expert partner engagement skills and demonstrated abilities to effectively influence and lead cross functional stakeholders.
Demonstrated proficiency in developing software for embedded systems.
Ability to speak and write fluently and idiomatically in one of the following languages: Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, German.
