**Patient Field Marketing Director, Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management**

Establishes and executes Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management Americas (US, Latin America, Canada) patient and field marketing strategies and tactical plans that build profitability and achieves Medtronic growth targets. Contributes to the establishment of the vision, strategy and annual goals and objectives of the business. Provides leadership and directs Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management Americas patient and field-based marketing teams, including market development and research activities; and manages all field-focused communication vehicles to ensure clarity, direction and alignment across the Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management commercial organization. Executes against customer segmentation and targets new business opportunities and provides vision and focus to move products to standard of care. Facilitates and coordinates marketing activities with Regional Sales Vice presidents to increase teamwork and build partnerships. Manages budgets, performance and employee development for Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management Americas patient and field marketing teams. Assures alignment with functional partners, in areas such as Finance, Reimbursement, Sales, global product marketing, legal and compliance.

**A Day in the Life**

• Directly manage the Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management patient and field-based marketing teams, with responsibility for strategic planning, budgeting, implementation and people development and coaching

• Represent Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management marketing leadership on appropriate cross functional initiatives in absence of Sr. Director

• Develop and drive strategy for integrating and leveraging field based marketing to segment, prioritize and optimize the growth of the business at the regional and district level

• Provide direction on the design and implementation of programs to drive sales growth and the regional, local and national level

• Develop and deploy programs to generate demand and increase purchase intent vs. competitive offerings for Medtronic Diabetes products across all patient segment

• Develop programs to support the business unit annual operating and strategic plan development by identifying and providing customer segmentation including needs, barriers and opportunities

• Manage all field-directed communications and national meetings for the Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management

• Investigate new Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management business opportunities, which will create value for the business unit and target customers and create demand for our products. Understand the market dynamics and competition for the Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management business unit. Optimize new market opportunities

• Establish and maintain relationships with field sales and internal sales leaders to ensure on-going flow of information on product needs and market conditions

• Contribute to the development, and execution of integrated commercial launch plans and market development plans; ensuring that the voice of the field is included for key initiatives implemented in the US

• Analyze financial performance against Annual Operating Plan and develops appropriate action

• Provide support in attracting, hiring, and growing talent and leadership capability within the Diabetes Intensive Insulin Management Americas Marketing and Sales organizations

• Manage expenses within budget, maximizing effectiveness and efficiency

• Works within and actively promotes Medtronic’s core mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct

**Must Haves: Minimum Qualifications**

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of work experience or Master’s/MBA or advanced degree with 8 years of work experience

• 5 years’ experience in a people leader role managing direct reports and/or directly leading cross functional teams

• 8 years of increasing responsibility in variety of positions focused primarily in marketing in a medical device firm

• 8 years of Marketing and/or Field Sales experience in a medical device firm

**Nice to Haves: Preferred Qualifications**

• MBA, with Marketing focus preferred

• Direct work experience with commercial product launches, particularly in consumer products or medical devices

• Experience in both Marketing and Field Sales functions

• Working knowledge in the following disciplines: engineering, clinical, business opportunity assessments, geographic markets or sales

• Diabetes experience or knowledge

• Experience to build and inspire people, establish trust and lead high performing teams

• Influence key decision makers and conduct briefing meetings for top management

• Broad understanding of key business drivers and organizational needs

• Ability to think creatively and plan strategically

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written

• Good interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude

• Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships
