Profile

The Manager, Program (Public) is responsible for growing and managing Public Sector business & Public Sector GPO's.

These sales range from approximately $20 - $150 million. In addition, strong margin management is a key responsibility and accountability for this position.

Establish, build and manage relationships with executive level management and sub level management within Federal government agencies

Manage all levels and aspects of the agency business from monthly reporting, field communications, growth and marketing strategy, pricing, business reviews (at both HQs and regionally as needed), new product introductions, Office Depot Government initiatives, etc.

Research and understand agency budgets and articulate how Office Depot offerings and pricing compares to competitors and leverage this distinction into additional sales

Maintain thorough understanding of the organization. Link Office Depot capabilities to decision maker's value drivers to overcome barriers to purchase

Solicit information to understand customer's decision making process. Anticipate and preempt stakeholder objections to bring the customer to favorable outcomes

Maintain current knowledge of economic and industry factors. Educate customers on industry trends and best practices

Communicate Office Depot's differentiators and relate them to the organization's priorities

Be perceptive to verbal and non-verbal cues to identify unanticipated customer needs

Attend government national/regional conventions and meetings to provide representation of the range of Office Depot products, services and business solutions

Establish and maintain specific target account lists with the Field Sales team, aggressively pursuing new opportunities within the government market

Coordinate with the Field Sales team to ensure an agency-specific program is understood and being sold

Ensure that all required information pertaining to an agency or specific sales programs are properly communicated in an organized and timely manner, including rollout information packets, pricing updates, target account blitzes, policies, training, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration

Minimum 5 years experience in related field; High level selling and key relationship management. Federal sales experience a plus.
