The Regional Director of Pharmacy ensures the provision of pharmaceutical services (including clinical pharmacy services) for the Chester, Saddle Brook and West Orange hospitals. The RDOP determines strategic vision and direction of the Pharmacy in collaboration with P&T committee, including P&P updates, and subsequent changes to practice as needed. He/she ensures consistency in processes across the three Kessler hospitals. The RDOP manages/supervises the Pharmacists in Charge (PIC) at the three Kessler hospitals and maintains liaisons with outside groups or agencies as needed. The RDOP assumes all of the duties and responsibilities of u201CPharmacist-in-charge when necessary.
Determines goals and objectives for the Chester, Saddle Brook and West Orange Pharmacy Departments in collaboration with the President and Hospital CEO's. Assures that optimal Kessler pharmacy services are provided to patients by developing and implementing the objectives for those departments. Working within established standards (i.e., Joint Commission, DOH, Board of Pharmacy and others), determines the Kessler Pharmacy Departments' functions, organization/employee complement.
Ensures that direct reports have received upon hire and continue to receive throughout employment the training, information and support to accomplish departmental objectives and meet job requirements.
Provides regular and accurate performance feedback to direct reports with focus on results, skill expansion, process improvement and learning.
Directs the Pharmacy Departmentu2019s performance improvement activities and ensures compliance with patient care and medical practice standards for all three Kessler Pharmacy Departments. Collaborates with Medical and Nursing Services to further enhance care.
Current state licensure as a Pharmacist required.
Five years of hospital Pharmacy experience required with a minimum of three yearsu2019 experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity required. Hospital Pharmacy residency (PGY-1 or higher) preferred. Advanced degree (MS, MBA, MPH) preferred.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate a pharmacy within a healthcare organization required.
