This position will report to EA’s Associate General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer to help deliver upon EA’s mission to be the world’s greatest games company.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, practical attorney who can drive and own US strategy in the areas of advertising and consumer protection. The role will also develop and maintain global guidelines in partnership with other US and Regional leads to ensure consistency and best practice. This is a great opportunity for a collaborative, strategic thinker who is interested in developing and maintaining a best-in-class legal advertising program.
+ Work with US and Regional legal colleagues to develop or maintain guidelines, templates and policies related to advertising-related matters including:
◦ Truth in advertising, including substantiation and comparative advertising;
◦ Sweepstakes, tournaments and contests;
◦ Offers, bundles and promotions;
◦ Loyalty programs, cause marketing;
◦ Children’s advertising;
◦ Endorsements and testimonials and native advertising;
◦ Advertising content restrictions;
◦ Self regulatory codes, including NAI and DAA.
+ Train and support legal colleagues to be comfortable giving frontline advice on day to day advertising issues both
+ Train and support marketing teams to ensure compliance with Antitrust laws.
+ Counsel US advertising technology business units to ensure compliance with laws and player commitments.
+ Counsel US business partners on novel or complex matters involving advertising, promotions or tournaments/contests.
+ JD with excellent academic record; active membership in at least one US state bar.
+ 7+ years experience practicing advertising and consumer protection law; litigation, antitrust and privacy experience a plus.
+ Experience with and knowledge of advertising technology (ad servers, ad exchanges, demand management platforms etc…) strongly preferred.
+ Experience and understand of US anti trust law in relating to pricing and advertising.
+ You are a self-motivated team player with the ability to learn quickly, identify and resolve legal and business issues, drive projects and earn the confidence of and cooperation of your business partners.
+ You have high standards, strong communication skills, impeccable integrity, good judgment, strong analytical skills and a keen sense of humor.
+ You are collaborative by nature and able to build strong partnerships with legal colleagues and business partners.You are effective in a fast-paced environment where you will be expected to give quick, clear, and concise legal advice.
+ You have the ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues, particularly in a fast-paced corporate setting.
