Job DescriptionAmazon\u2019s Automated Advertising team is responsible for acquiring customers and maximizing their lifetime value via digital marketing programs. To do so, the team leverages a variety of digital marketing channels such as Social, Search Engine Advertising, Search Engine Optimization, Email, Push Notifications, and display advertising. The team is also responsible for Amazon\u2019s renowned Deals program, responsible for deals year round which become a particular focus on Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and throughout the holiday season. The team is global, covering all Amazon marketplaces, and has team members primarily located in Seattle, Bangalore, Beijing in Edinburgh. To enable these programs, the team builds scalable, automated technology and includes a large technical staff. The team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead cross-organizational initiatives that enhance customer value, reduce redundancy, and improve efficiency. Example initiatives run the gamut from organizing international expansion across the organization\u2019s six teams to minimizing team\u2019s software costs through efficiency use of shared resources. Reporting directly into the team\u2019s Vice President, the role plays a central role in keeping the organization running smoothly and efficiently, and influencing the technical direction of the organization In this role you will work closely with stakeholders, software engineers, product teams and business leaders to deliver cross-organizational projects. To do so, you will need to be a jack of all trades, able to easily pivot between complex cross-organizational software development efforts, to new process development, to effectively influencing leaders across the organization. You will collaborate with product teams to deliver the best products, while making the most efficient use of resources and technologies. You will work with all the stakeholders to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities. You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, and continuous process improvement. Basic Qualifications:B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science or a related field
7 years of industry experience managing software projects and development of distributed applications. Demonstrated knowledge of Project/Program Management principles and processes.
Experience leading the implementation and delivery of large scale, cross-organizational projects.
Experience working with business customers to innovate on business processes.
Experience with agile software development methodology.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with technical and business teams.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders
Experience with data analytics and large scale data processing.
