The Creative Director is responsible and accountable for managing the overall quality, innovation, and execution of all creative deliverables produced while keeping true to the company’s brand vision. This position will oversee the management and daily operations of Perio’s internal creative team and will also lead external creative agency resources as needed. The Creative Director will work on a diverse mix of assignments across all mediums in a high-energy collaborative environment. The Creative Director will apply their knowledge, skills, talents, ideas and be able to roll up their sleeves and be a hands-on leader.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serves as a passionate steward, advocate and gatekeeper for the brands alongside the CEO, President, VP and Brand/Marketing teams.
Ensures the governance and compliance with brand standards and visual brand identities throughout the creative development process, and across all communication channels and media.
Collaborate with peers and cross functional partners to bring the brand and product vision to life.
Create and define the brand visual language across categories in partnership with the brand management team.
Communications & Creative Development
Working in conjunction with the CEO, President, VP and Brand/Marketing teams, helps develop and execute an integrated communications strategy and creative framework across a variety of mediums that aligns with each brand’s unique voice and positioning.
Works cross departmental to ensure holistic execution of brand strategy and communication, and to influence and inspire the creation of truly breakthrough communications.
Ensures impactful, creative expression across all customer touch-points, communication vehicles, and content/product, including digital (website, email, display, SEO/SEM, social, YouTube), as well as offline channels (packaging, TV, print, direct mail, tradeshows, sales collateral, retail POP, traditional PR).
Develops creative concepts and strategies that align with brand initiatives.
Ensures that the overall creative and development processes operate in an efficient manner.
Monitors trends in the digital, social, marketing, design and advertising industries to stay current.
Accountable for all creative briefs and external agency/partner/supplier management.
Define, scope, estimate, create, manage, track, and drive towards deadlines for all new and existing creative and design projects.
Accountable for managing the creative development and execution processes to ensure that all projects meet timelines and budgets.
Meet internal and external deadlines and be proactive in communications.
Identifies what work is best done internally and what is best done externally and secures and manages external resources as needed.
Team Leadership & Development
Enhance the overall capability and capacity of the Creative team through coaching, training and developing a best in class collective skill set, as well as hiring exceptional, incremental staff – both internal hires, and external suppliers, consultants, and agencies.
Train, manage, and mentor creative staff by critiquing their work and providing constructive feedback with the objective of delivering consistent creative quality.
Manage creative staff across projects, maximizing efficiency and quality of work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Digital Marketing, TV, Radio, Print, Social Media, Video, Photography: Experience creatively influencing and managing execution of Digital Marketing, e-commerce, TV, Radio, Print, Social Media, Video and Photography efforts both with internal and external partners.
World class creative and brand building capabilities. Innovative and creative thinking. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in creative direction.
Sales & Marketing Knowledge:
Understanding and experience in integrated marketing campaigns. Knowledge, principles and methods for showing and promoting, and selling products or services.
Team oriented player-coach with a collaborative approach, but willing and able to take overall responsibility for deliverables. Ability to motivate and lead others in development and execution of creative projects, including ideation and execution.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles such as alignment, balance, consistency, contrast, proximity, and white space and how they interact with design layouts, color, and various mediums being used.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. It is essential to have the ability to deliver clear, concise and impactful written and verbal communications to audiences with varied backgrounds.
Ability to effectively and efficiently proofread materials with great accuracy and efficiency and accountability for outcome of work product.
Project Management Skills:
: Ability to demonstrate strong project management skills, with multiple projects. Proactively keep projects moving through self-motivation and influencing the timely work of others. Meet deadlines.
Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills for collaboratively working with employees at all levels, vendors, and external partners. Exceptional listening skills – listens first, then responds.

Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications such as Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), Final Cut Pro X, HD Camera, Apple Computer, word processing, presentation software, internet searching applications and social media tools, email applications and spreadsheet software.
SUMMARY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in advertising or design
10 years marketing and advertising experience (CPG or Retailer experience preferred).
5 years direct people management experience.
Experience working with external creative agencies and production companies.
Prior experience leading a creative team is preferred.
The job function is primarily performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such office environments. Observance of all safety rules and guidelines is imperative and expected at all times.
Travel to various locations is required approximately 5% of the time. Local, national or international travel for production.
Communicates orally and electronically with co-workers, clients and vendors in face-to-face, one-on-one, e-mail, telephone or group settings.
The employee regularly must be able to complete the following activities in the course of his/her job: Typing, Hearing, Talking, Seeing
The position requires “Sedentary Work” - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Involves sitting most of the time.
