We’re seeking a new member for the McDonald’s Global Executive & Internal Communications team who will help build on this success, acting as a content curator for our global communications ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have a good design sensibility, a knack for video and photography and the ability to write copy that is fun, concise and draws interest. They will also be able to work with a variety of people, handle multiple projects and quickly deliver within tight deadlines, and turn sometimes complex information into clear, engaging content.
Our team works hard and juggles a lot, but we have fun and enjoy celebrating and inspiring each other as we do our part in building a better McDonald’s. This role will be based in our new, state-of-the art headquarters that’s located in the booming West Loop neighborhood of Chicago.

BA/BS degree required
2 years of experience in digital communications in a corporate or agency environment
2 years of experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite as well as a working knowledge of basic audio/video editing software
1 years of experience in internal or external social media
1 years of direct experience with content management systems
BA/BS degree in Advertising, Public Relations or Communications-related field preferred
Global experience is a plus
Self-starter who can work under tight deadlines and has solid time management skills
Ability to work creatively within a framework of brand guidelines
Strong sense of design composition and layout
Understands the various communication channels and distribution methods
Explores and stays current with communication trends including channels and tools
Ability to work with teams cross-culturally and cross-functionally
Demonstrates open-mindedness to new challenges and situations, but willing to take risks
Uses metrics to make data-driven decisions about content
Has comfort working with internal partners and external agencies
Principle responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop digital content (copy, graphics, photos, videos, infographics) that strengthens our storytelling efforts, enhancing stories created by the global editorial team.
Guide production and post content across all digital channels (intranet, video portal, internal social, digital signage, email newsletters).
Partner closely with McDonald’s internal agency for project execution, creative direction and brand alignment.
Seek out internal stakeholders to source ideas, stories and collaborate with messaging across channels.
Ensure global internal communications are innovative and modernized by actively seeking new techniques and trends.
Partner with media and social teams to share internal content for external use and leverage external content for internal use.
Build and manage content streams for our new internal social channels, including communications that encourage employee-generated content.
