Profile

As a Copy Writer and Editor, the candidate will be responsible for the review and standardization of software and system documentation, drafting memos, taking minutes, and other writing assignments as needed. Assist the Government client with document repository, attending weekly meetings, capturing action items, and working closely with staff on any special projects as assigned. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design, create, maintain, and update many types of technical documentation, online help, user guides, white papers, design specifications, presentations, and other documents. Analyze the needs of the target audience. Study data and conduct in-depth interviews with subject matter experts to understand the product, process, or procedure. Edit, standardize, or revise material prepared by other writers or personnel. Prepare rough drafts of documents for review with the project staff and/or customers. Attend meetings, create and distribute meeting minutes. Understand the software development and deployment life cycle. Experience with an SDLC, Agile (Scrum and Kanban) processes and understand the required artifacts at the various states is preferred. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Proficient in the following MS Products: MS Office Visio PowerPoint Publisher SharePoint Strong proofreading skills with utmost attention to detail. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in copy writing and editing documentation required. Have a basic knowledge of software development and the life cycle. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills. Basic knowledge of Confluence, JIRA and Remedy. Security: Existing CBP BI or Top Secret Clearance.
