GCS Division designs and manufactures transportable small-aperture satellite terminals and systems, including antennas & positioners, RF equipment, satellite modems, terminal control electronics and software and associated ancillary equipment. POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales – Services, the Manager, Business Development is responsible for the full cycle of business development and opportunity identification for GCS Services satellite hardware, bandwidth services and support in both the commercial and government sector. Specifically this role will be targeting increasing L3 GCS's foot print within the Department of Defense and those contractors that support the Department of Defense and other Federal Agencies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Promote and position GCS satellite network services and end to end solutions in operational units within the Department of Defense (COCOMs, MAJCOMs, etc) and those that support these units. Identifies, qualifies and develops a pipeline of strategic opportunities and growth strategy to achieve annual new business objectives. Accurate and timely forecasting of opportunities is imperative in this role.Penetrates target agencies/organizations as assigned and other supporting agencies/ organizations to uncover longer term strategic opportunities. Broadens and deepens existing customer relationships to gain strategic positioning, retain existing revenue, and attain additional business.Work with operational end users to understand future requirements to shape L3 GCS service and product offerings.Develop and communicate prioritized list of strategic opportunities for target government and commercial organizations and briefs senior management on high dollar opportunities.Ability to articulate the requirements for technical, contractual, commercial and management responses.Self-motivated and driven leader with a sense of urgency to stay in front of strategic opportunities. Possess exceptional written/verbal communications skills, presentation skills, and organizational time management.Responds to customer requests by collaborating with internal business partners, coordinating with technical support and offering assistance during product changes.Maintains relationships with potential and existing customers by following-up on a continuous basis (pre-post installation and/or delivery) and providing adaptable products for current platform.Filter opportunities with new customers to applicable sales leadMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societiesParticipates in trade shows and other events as directedContributes to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assignedThis person will be accountable for revenue growth in line with division goals and objectives and for bringing the business unit to the next level.Ability to travel nationally & internationally to customer facilities as required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role has no supervisory requirements.
