ALL SHIFTS (United States of America)
The Director, Advertising will be a member of the Marketing Communications and Design Team and will support Prepared Foods as the lead expert on cross-channel advertising campaign development to drive both brand and business growth for all of Tyson’s retail brands. This person will oversee the relationship with our creative agencies and collaborate with marketing leadership to enable advertising that keeps our brands salient, relevant, and poised for growth. He/she will report to the Vice President, Marketing Communications and Design, and will interface frequently with the Prepared Foods leadership and the BU teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads advertising agency partners to create famous advertising campaigns that build our brands and businesses
Guides marketing leadership on strategic and executional creative decisions
Leads brand strategy and marketing briefs, in collaboration with brand marketing, consumer insights, and agency partners for both core brands and new Innovation
Influences campaign-related research initiatives, in conjunction with consumer insights
Collaborates with media and PR teams to execute annual Integrated Marketing Communications process and timelines
Build principles for great advertising and coaches marketers on creative evaluation and decision making
Oversees agency-executed production process, timelines, and budgets
Builds strong relationships with various internal & agency leadership teams
Establishes and oversees advertising KPIs and measurement priorities
Manages one direct report, Manager of Owned Media, who manages website content, including SEO & SEM
Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience: 10 years of hands-on experience in advertising roles, with agency experience a must and CPG experience a plus
Computer Skills: proficient in Microsoft Office
Communication Skills: Able to collaborate and build relationships with senior marketers and agency partners. Able to effectively navigate decisions when there are conflicting priorities and opinions
Special Skills: Skilled at identifying, influencing, and championing great creative work. Well versed in traditional and digital media landscapes. Influential across all levels & departments in the organization
Supervisory: 1 direct report (manager level)
Travel: 10-15%; various locations for production shoots, some international (i.e. Canada)
