Core Duties/Responsibilities

The Email Marketing-Assistant Manager/Manager will play an integral part in delivering a relevant relationship building marketing experience for our Clients. The Email Marketing Assistant Manager/ Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day email activities required to deploy emails and to ensure drop dates are adhered to and to oversee timely reporting and follow-up documentation of the deployments internally and to the Client. You will serve as email marketing subject matter expert, driving best practices for all our Clients and their business objectives.


Own and take full accountability of lifecycle email programs, from conception to execution

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define overall campaign objectives, reporting needs and list requirements

Understand targeting criteria

and the segmentation of the Client's database

Ensure all creative files are in strict compliance with CAN-SPAM laws/regulations

Manage all campaign testing, QA and deployment schedules

QA all creative files - HTML & Text formats to make sure files render properly, all links are live, graphics are hosted, landing pages are active etc. during the testing phase

Serve as primary liaison to manage 3 rd party relationship with our email service provider (ESP)

Serve as primary liaison between Marketing Operations Team and Account Teams to ensure all email campaigns have proper oversight and are internally managed properly

Maintain knowledge of the evolving email landscape, monitoring deliverability metrics and maintaining the user engagement by implementing tactics related to email hygiene, privacy, opt-in/opt-out requirements and email applications

Responsibility for managing the reporting schedule on email performance metrics-campaign level (HH and company)

Manage detailed tracking reports and KPI's (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly) for both B2C and B2B email programs

Provide weekly status reports to management detailing campaign/program performance

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising or other related field

Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on/day to day experience as the Email Marketing Manager or CRM Marketing Manager

Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, with willingness to speak up for what is right for the business and the ability to motivate others

Creative problem solver, able to think through issues and come up with actionable solutions

Extremely organized, analytical, and detail-oriented to meet strict deadlines

Able to work independently, as well is in a team dynamic and to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels within the Agency, and with the Client

Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Efficient, highly productive multi-tasker who is self-motivated and thrives in fast paced, dynamic, data driven, constantly changing environment

Superior knowledge of email best practices including but not limited to deliverability, targeting/segmentation, subject lines, messaging and CAN-SPAM legislation

Thorough understanding of Email benchmarks, as well as data hygiene compliance

Experience managing workflow automation to support triggered email campaigns via platform tool and API's

Advanced/expert MS Office skills, including use of macros and pivot tables in Excel

Direct experience and understanding of business intelligence tools and other data cleansing and reporting tools

Active and working knowledge and experience of database management

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and random drug testing

Preferred/Additional Skills-a Plus:

Working at or managing experience with top-tier ESP platforms (ex: ExactTarget, CheetahMail, iPost, SilverPop), a plus

Experience with managing vendors and Advertising agency experience, a plus

Experience with data compliance procedures, a plus

List acquisition experience or Broker experience, a plus

Mobile email experience, a plus
