Manager of QA Analysis','0091310','!*!The QA Manager will play a leadership role in ensuring that quality is built into the solutions that Automotive Customer Lifecycle Management (CLM) develops. This person will be a hands-on manager, with a proven ability to direct and improve quality programs, reduce defects and improve overall efficiency and productivity. The QA Manager provides oversight of quality-related activities that will enable the organization to meet the needs of its stakeholders. Functions:• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (requirements derivation through delivery), with an emphasis on building in quality at every stage.• Identify, influence and implement SDLC/STLC and QA best practices across the delivery and testing teams to drive end-to-end improvements.• Drive the overall direction, scope and strategy for Quality Assurance; ensure compliance with, and understanding of, this strategy by QA team members and others.• Identify gaps in the quality assurance and testing processes, generate solutions, and drive continuous improvement.• Lead the development of test strategies based on a project’s Business Requirements document, functional requirements, design documents, user stories and user acceptance criteria.• Hands on technical tasks required in day to day work, whether on building or managing projects.• Identify and map test cases to requirements; design test coverage plans; facilitate reviews with cross-functional team members.• Ensure test plans are created, reviewed, maintained; participate in project and release planning; support implementations and go-lives.• Collaborate with QA counterparts to define resourcing needs to meet QA demands of CLM.• Hire, Train and manage both onshore and offshore resources.• Supervise and coordinate QA personnel to provide technical and efficient service to the organization; estimate and manage resource demand.• Direct staff, set operational objectives and business goals; establish and monitor performance measures.• Conduct on-going performance reviews and assist in staff development; participate in hiring and training; promote succession planning; provide coaching and mentoring.• Communicate application readiness, level of quality, and results to QA management and project client team.• Collaborate with development teams to analyze defects, determine root causes, and drive solutions to prevent recurrence.• Identify delivery risks due to quality issues; collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement mitigating strategies; ensure timely escalation as needed.• Implement quality standards and benchmarks; develop and track key metrics.• Conduct operational quality audits to ensure compliance with best practices.• Assist the automation team in designing flexible and maintainable automated test scripts to support QA.• Enable creation of robust regression test suites for re-use on identified projects.• Ability to develop and share best practices for various process improvement efforts in the QA Organization.Work Experience• 8 years of overall experience in software QA, with at least 2 years in a direct QA management role • A minimum of 3 years direct experience in Quality Assurance testing for IT projects, preferably in data warehouse and/or web service-based solutions.• Significant experience successfully delivering projects/results in a fast-paced IT environment.• A proven track record managing testing-related activities following any SDLC methodology.• Demonstrated success working collaboratively to drive results in a matrixed environment that requires managing multiple high priorities simultaneously, taking charge and escalating appropriately.• Extensive experience leading teams for start-to-finish and end-to-end manual functional testing.Skills, Knowledge or Abilities:• Understanding of business processes and general knowledge of platforms under test.• Ability to quickly grasp and understand the business domain for the applications and solutions to be tested.• Significant experience and knowledge of QA principles in defining and implementing formal testing methodologies, including risk analysis, test coverage assessment, QA metrics, etc. • Strong foundation in various software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, waterfall, Hybrid, etc.).• Significant leadership skills to effectively drive cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.• Direct performance management experience; able to lead, train and motivate resources to achieve results.• Experience in using industry tools to track and manage all activities related to QA efforts (preferably Microsoft Team Foundation Server [TFS]).• Proven ability to work and manage work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities; ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables.• Tolerance for and ability to work through ambiguity.• Excellent communication skills, with a desire to build an environment that cultivates collaboration and continuous improvement.• Creative technical problem solving and abstract thinking.• Good negotiation skills; willing to collaborate to find mutually acceptable solutions.• Self-starter with the ability to assess and initiate things independently.Desired Skills / Experience:• Business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Informatica, Pentaho).• Relational Databases(e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)• Data hygiene and customer data integration (CDI).• Knowledge in development and design of distributed systems and web services (SOA).Education Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in technology-related to field, including but not limited: Computer Science, Management Information Systems;
