This position will be supporting website design efforts on the digital advertising operations team. The BH Media Group's digital advertising operations team supports digital advertising and marketing efforts for the BH Media Group's numerous daily, weekly and specialty publications around the United States. The Web Designer will assist in planning, proposal building, website mock-ups, site design, art direction and back-end maintenance for advertiser websites. We are looking for a designer with experience in a variety of WYSIWYG website building platforms such as Wordpress, Mono, Instapage, Weebly, Wix, etc. The designer will be part of a larger team with experience in the current platforms, content writing, communication, planning and digital marketing products. Ideally the designer will have graphic design experience and a great sense of aesthetics, color theory and layout. We need a designer who is quick on their feet, able to make recommendations and adapt to an evolving work environment, work as part of a team and help quickly realize advertiser goals and needs. Most projects will not entail building sites from the ground up with HTML, but a good understanding of code, ability to manipulate it and troubleshoot functionality and visual consistency is critical. 1-3 years of experience focusing on web publishing, graphic design or user experience management is desired. 4-year degree in graphic design, fine arts, computer science, web development or equivalent work experience is a requirement. Applicants will be expected to share examples of past work and an understanding of end-to-end website project management. The position will report to the digital advertising operations director, assist the efforts of team leads and managers within the group, and service internal and external customers in the news media markets around the company.
