Job SummaryThe Media Manager is responsible for all aspects of purchasing, and execution of print insert advertising campaigns and projects. This person will work with publishers, internal team members, and external stakeholders to ensure media buys are purchased and executed in a way that ensures quality and competitive pricing while overseeing and executing a high volume of complex projects. Partner with Director on management of media calendars and development of multichannel marketing campaigns including TV, Radio, social and digital media buys.Major Responsibilities Use expertise in creating optimal media plans for Directors approval based on media distribution data such as rates, market feedback/competitors, product type, distribution method, day of week availability, etc. Update and maintain Media Planning print buy, media plans and master files. Verify vendor rates, quantities, space, and materials reservations. Generate, confirm and track monthly insertion orders. Generate and update quantities for printer run list and supply to client and/or vendor. Provide mechanical specifications for ROP ads and ensure newspaper receives copy by deadline. Provide regular reporting as it relates to media buying inclusive of budgeting/forecasting, cost scenarios, and executed program details inclusive of quantity and cost. Communicate delivery deadlines with print vendors. Provide maps and recommendations for distribution of print circular and Grand Opening stores. Liaison between the vendors and the printers to resolve delivery issues. Solve billing discrepancies with vendors and maintain billing adjustments. Negotiate rates/annual agreements with smaller vendors. Negotiate make-goods with vendors that do not execute the media plan as instructed. Provide recommendations/POVs on media products and opportunities that come up in the normal course of business. Lead development and execution of holistic paid media strategies and plans for priority campaigns. Partner with Analytics team to track and analyze key media metrics, evaluate campaign performance and actively optimize to ensure media plan efficiency and integrity. Review all media documents with agency and internal partners including plans, performance reports, project timelines, media authorizations, agreements etc. Establish media best practices and stay abreast of key media and digital trends. Manage multiple work streams, drive flawless execution and have a passion for testing. Assists in handling budget management and spend documentation. Maintains competitive spend reporting and insights for key brands. Oversees media audit process. Performs other related duties as required and assigned by Director of Digital and Media.Ideal Candidate Attributes Bachelors or Associates degree required, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field. Minimum of 5 -8 years professional experience in media planning and buying in agency or client organization, delivering multi-media campaigns Experience with Print insert placement and price negotiation is a must. Experience negotiating media and vendor costs and schedules Experience developing and managing budget planning and monthly forecasts Experience with CPM, CPC and CPA media buying Analytical Mindset Turn Analysis to Action An eye for detail. Creative and strategic thinker, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheet and/or database software. Highly proficient with MS Office software, especially Excel Entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and succeed
