Director of Technical Project Management','0089978','!*!About the OpportunityThe Director, Technical Project Management position is responsible for leading a team of managers, leads, and individual contributors in delivering Digital client solutions. This role will work in conjunction with cross-functional leadership, Client Services, Sales, Technology leadership, and direct reports. This role will participate in back office sales support and project estimation.The Director will participate in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people.Essential Functions • Oversees the people who lead internal or external projects from initiation to delivery • Manages career paths by coaching and mentoring direct and indirect reports. Holds associates accountable for their work by setting expectations, achieving commitments, providing feedback, and evaluating effectiveness. Provides technical leadership in the organization.• Manages and prioritizes the project stream, working with customers to determine project definition and business requirements • Provides budget analysis, resource allocation, and coordination of project activities that may be across functional areas within the organization • Assigns and monitors work of personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time, and within budget • Monitors reliability and any internal issues that appear as a result of the project Knowledge & Skills • Excellent understanding of project management principles, such as organization, documentation, and delegation • Excellent communication and negotiation skills • Able to interact with staff/colleagues of varying levels • Able to prioritize work, and shift priorities as needed to meet aggressive deadlines and milestones • Able to identify and resolve issues • Able to complete successful projects that are on schedule and receive high satisfaction results • Able to function, and successfully manage, in a demanding and stressful environment • Able to negotiate and manage conflict, and manage customer concerns that cause disappointment, dissatisfaction, or frustration for the customer • Able to identify most effective and appropriate PM methodology (ies) based on project scope and complexity • Able to mentor Project Managers • Able to deviate from standard/established PM methodologies to accomplish dynamic project completion Duties & Responsibilities • Employee management and development. To include performance management, compensation management, career development, skill development, etc• Offshore enablement: Support the implementation and maintenance a global delivery model across all eligible books of business• New Business Support: participate in MORe process for relevant and assigned opportunities. This includes conceptual design, sizing and pricing, proposal development, proof-of-concept development, and supporting sales presentations• Department documentation: contribute to the creation of White papers, existing and new Client decks, Rate Card, Service packages, etc. identify, develop, and launch new service/product enhancements. To be reviewed quarterly.• Fiscal Responsibility. Through expense management, team utilization targets, and the implementation of a global delivery model.• Be billable on strategic projects or accounts requiring significant oversight, including creating/evaluating project plans and monitoring project progress and delivery quality • Provide oversight and monitor overall account ‘health’ for book of business from a delivery and quality standpoint • Troubleshoot project issues with client services and engage appropriate resources as needed • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to team • Proactively work to improve delivery quality, repeatability and on time delivery of key projects as part of both project work and/or strategic company initiatives • Have expert project management skills and be comfortable leading 10-20 person project teams • Be an expert in the full development lifecycle (SDLC), both waterfall and agile experience preferred• Have strong problem solving and negotiation skills in a client-facing environment • Have strong leadership and people management skills • Have the ability to work effectively under significant deadline pressure • Supervisory Responsibilities include coordinating and leading projects, managing and leading others, and managing a functional area or program Technical Requirements • Email technologies and Digital industry experience required• Full life cycle including Production release experience• Technical experience required for roles overseeing technical departments and service offerings• Project Management tools such as MS Project, Rally, etc required• Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Business Objects, MicroStrategy, and Microsoft Reporting/Analysis Services) is a plus • Web technologies (e.g., HTML, XML, web services) is a plus Preferred Qualifications • Should have a minimum of 8 years of direct experience managing complex IT or Digital projects, preferably in the Digital Marketing space • 5 years of supervisory experience Experience • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a related field • Significant leadership experience required Education • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required• Master’s degree preferred• PMP certification preferred','!*!Conditions of Employment
