Summary:

Responsible for the management of the assigned district, using consultative selling skills to assist builders within the district to achieve the assigned wholesale sales and inventory level goals. Maintains accurate records on district activity and communicates builder and market conditions to executive management through written as well as verbal reports. Maintain builder compliance with company policies through consistent communication with the builders and Home Office.

Duties: Communicate sales programs, market conditions and competitive advantages to each Boat Builder in order to obtain increased sales and attain sales goals. Conduct sales and product training with Boat Builder employees so as to increase their knowledge of the product line.

Assist the Boat Builder in making accurate forecast of product needs along with assisting them in product training of their sales force. Work with each Boat Builder in the district to supply all needed sales information on a timely basis.

Assist with the control of inventory and analyze sales information to release the product to the correct Boat Builder resulting in maximum sales. Take full responsibility for handling credit turndown orders by either getting the Boat Builder credit approved or switching the order to another Boat Builder in the district that can pass credit. Ultimately, responsible for getting all accepted orders shipped regardless of financing including prepay.

Assist with the creative development of advertising programs as well as getting maximum participation in company created promotions. Counsel the builder in proper use of the established CO-OP programs so as to enhance the quality and quantity of builder advertising. Assist builders with CO-OP policies and procedures for processing CO-OP claims.

Motivate the Boat Builders to participate in boat shows or other events to maximize the exposure of product in the district. Conduct sales and product training with the Boat Builder principle and their employees so as to increase their knowledge of the marine product line and the most effective methods to sell to dealers and the retail customer. Assist with set-up and selling at major boat shows, Builder dealer meetings, and other promotional functions throughout the U.S.

Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years as a field sales person, district manager or equivalent management experience in the Marine or related industry.

Must have good interpersonal selling skills and a working knowledge of advertising, sales and promotion. The ability to understand and counsel on wholesale financial profit and loss management is a plus. Must be willing to travel away from home a minimum of 60% and have a valid drivers license.

Compensation:

$60,000 for the five-star high-performer
