Description A post-graduate internship at Weber Shandwick is intended to provide a true learning experience along with the opportunity to observe public relations professionals in a business environment. In general, interns will provide entry-level professional services, under supervision, as appropriate to the day-to-day needs of the office\/account teams. About the role: The Detroit office of Weber Shandwick is seeking an Art Director Intern to join our creative team. We are looking for someone with the right combination of conceptual approach, self-motivation, and artistic skills necessary to assist in the creation, selling and execution of impactful ideas and presentations for our clients. Unlike some internships, you will be involved in actual client work under the supervision of our Creative Directors, across a variety of projects and assignments. You should be obsessive about attention to detail and making things look great. Brand consistency, a passion for type and design, and the ability to visually convey your ideas through beautiful comps, should be in your DNA. Responsibilities: \u2022 Ongoing development of new ideas, creative concepts and design solutions \u2022 Creation of production-ready designs and layouts, and convey ideas through well-designed presentations \u2022 Ensure all visual design adheres to existing brand guidelines \u2022 Work with copywriters, producers and other team members to flesh out the creative development of ideas and tactical executions \u2022 Ability to create and prepare visual presentations in Keynote and PowerPoint \u2022 Design various graphics and treatments for social media, press kits and video integration \u2022 Translate video story ideas into visual sequences through storyboards, mood boards, etc. \u2022 Developing materials for presentations and new business meetings \u2022 Conception and ideation for existing and new client deliverables \u2022 Designing consistent work for different mediums (i.e. digital, mobile, OOH and print executions) Qualifications Education and Experience: \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Advertising, Graphic Design or related field \u2022 Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within all required aspects of the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Knowing After Effects, UI\/UX design, HTML5 and CSS is a big plus. \u2022 Resourcefulness, Independence, Problem Solving: eagerness to learn new skills on the job with the ability to seek out answers and solutions when nothing obvious is present \u2022 Strong writing and verbal communication skills \u2022 Ongoing drive to understand emerging techniques, trends and philosophies in design, technology, interaction, social media, digital, mobile, social and print. \u2022 Must have a portfolio (share anything that conveys the way you think or approach assignments) \u2022 Bonus Skills: illustration, photography, retouching, filmmaking, videography, editorial Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity\/Affirmative Action employer.
