Job Description: Department: ESS Meeting & Convention Sales Is this a paid or unpaid internship: Unpaid Duration of Internship: 12 weeks Description of Intern\u2019s role for the department: Interns will learn from their mentors to tackle everyday projects and tasks that the mentor typically handles on a daily basis. These projects may include assisting with creation of content for monthly e-newsletters, sales presentations or sales collateral; learning to review and update property listings, fact sheets, websites and collateral; learning how to write and edit copy and compose press releases or articles. They own and assist with projects, shadow their mentor and attend meetings. Specific goals and objectives: Our goal is to leave interns with enhanced knowledge of the marketing field, tangible experience that can be communicated through portfolio pieces that assist them in securing future opportunities and to give them the tools and information to become ideal candidates for potential positions with Caesars Entertainment. Through our intern program, we also strive to assist our interns in figuring out what their marketing niche may be by giving them increased knowledge of meetings & events marketing as well as information about the other departments we work with including property marketing, marketing capabilities, Studio, and others. What specific knowledge, skills, or techniques will be learned? Areas of learning include advertising, event marketing, public relations, database marketing, internet marketing, social media and catering\/convention sales. Interns will gain the knowledge of a marketing generalist and experience what a real day in the field entails. In the ever changing environment that comes with a career in marketing, interns will also learn to prioritize, problem solve, make decisions and work with hard deadlines. How, specifically, will these knowledge, skills or techniques be taught? Interns shadow their mentor and other Caesars Entertainment employees to experience a wide variety of marketing disciplines. They attend meetings where their input is welcomed and valued. Interns work on important projects that will be used and implemented, and receive daily hands-on training from their mentors. How will this internship benefit the Intern\u2019s academic career? The hands on experience that they will learn during their internship will allow them to test their problem solving skills and apply things they have learned in the classroom to real life situations. Interns will also have the opportunity to learn skills that cannot be learned in a classroom that they can apply to their future studies. Our department will work with the intern\u2019s school to help the intern get college credit for the internship, helping them to move forward towards their desired degree.
