Who We Want:
The Strategic Account Management (SAM) role is integral to our Advertising business. The role fulfills the client facing representative for our Advertising campaigns and provides the opportunity to engage with both agencies and clients directly. In addition to client-facing tasks, the SAM is integral in collaborating with their internal counterparts, including the Account Executive and the Ad Operations peer for their given vertical. The Advertising team offers an entrepreneurial, fast moving, and innovative work environment.
Responsibilities include understanding of a client’s goals, strategizing on what will meet and exceed the client’s goals, and translating that in to an advertising proposal. The proposal phase is done in partnership with your Account Executive and Ad Operations team. If the business is won, the SAM takes the lead on campaign setup, campaign reporting, campaign communication around pacing and optimizations, and owns the final readout of campaign success. The SAM is always pursuing incremental revenue and is tasked with setting the client and internal team up for securing renewed business. Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
Work in partnership with the Account Executive on the completion of a proposal received through the RFP process, including all steps around strategizing on the recommendation, developing assets, securing approvals, etc.
When business is won, enter all relevant media plan information into the business systems of record for tracking, implementation, and billing
Own the template creation and client presentation for reporting both during and post-campaign
Support the needs of the Sales organization to ensure team success
Collaborate closely with the Ad Operations team on delivering campaign success
Coach and delegate tasks to an Account Associate who is responsible for supporting all SAMs on account tasks
Own discovery conversations with clients to understand business goals, who the key players are on an account and build those relationships, collect feedback on campaign performance, secure additional dollars, be in the know on future opportunities
Build a solid foundation of advertising knowledge while developing strong business acumen to elevate conversations with clients
Always keep an ear to the ground on both Advertising industry knowledge and vertical specific knowledge – be seen as a thought leader both internally at BV and externally with clients
Collaborate with SaaS counterparts where we have a shared account, leverage each other’s expertise and client relationships to make progress within an organization
BA/BS or equivalent
3-5 years of experience in an account management role, agency experience a plus
Client facing experience, both in person and phone/email, a must
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
Willingness to dig into details and do whatever it takes to deliver a great customer experience
Multi-tasking ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects while still being detail oriented
Comfort working in a highly collaborative, fluid work environment
Understanding of web serving technologies, display advertising, and online revenue models a requirement
Open and receptive to feedback, strives to excel in a role and is hungry for coaching on career development
