POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Manager of Brand Experience will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing creative experiences, promotions and events that maintain industry and consumer perception of Calvin Klein as a leading lifestyle brand. They will work closely with the Directors of Brand Experience to ideate, develop and execute Global experiential marketing and communications initiatives, including brand events, consumer engagements and other marketing extensions, in support of building brand awareness, all the while ensuring the brand’s standards are met and in-tandem with the current marketing positioning. They will support building scalable strategies for regional markets and licensees. They will be able to identify emerging trends, compelling brand partnerships, and creative ways of communicating brand messaging, while passing each through the lens of the brand to implement exciting programs that speak directly to influencers, press, and consumers.

The ideal candidate knows what it takes to develop and roll out great experiences that engage the target audience. They employ an integrated approach to marketing and communications (creative, digital, social, communications, media), as well as a capacity for unconventional thinking that will allow them to create personal interaction and engagement with the brand. They will be dynamic, influential, trend seeker & setter, with brand knowledge of industry trends, as well as a unique and creative point of view.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

  • Develop creative seed ideas for experiences based on marketing strategy, brand experience strategy, brand messaging and program objectives.
  • Be an active force in brainstorming strategy and innovative concepts for licensees and regional market initiatives, as well as for potential partnerships and various experiential programs.
  • Work with Director, Brand Experience in overseeing and partnering with our CK regional offices and licensees to provide dedicated support for their initiatives.
  • Setup weekly check-ins with regional counterparts to ensure consistency of strategy, execution and ultimately a streamlined consumer experience.
  • With additional oversight on execution, they will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver against business objectives while carefully tracking budgets and results.
  • Support Directors of Brand Experience in execution of global brand initiatives.
  • Lead execution of select brand experience projects (or portions of) as assigned, fully owning planning end to end, and closely communicating with the Directors of Brand Experience along the way.
  • Event planning and execution (e.g., guest experience, event design, venue scouting, vendor hire and management, entertainment bookings, décor and scenic, asset creation, catering, permitting and logistics, contract negotiations); budget ownership; and post event ROI reporting.
  • Function as a self-starter and thought leader that generates useful, usable ideas across all existing and emerging experiential platforms including: product launches, press events, social campaigns, PR stunts, online videos, and a wide variety of brand touch-points.   
  • Write conceptual content and drives presentation development for projects assigned by Director, Brand Experience.
  • Collaborate with creative, content and production teams to deliver the highest quality experiences.
  • Research and evaluate the consumer marketing space to build concept plans and leverage experiential opportunities.
  • Lead project integration amongst the various marketing, advertising and PR departments to ensure strategic, as well as consistent brand alignment globally. 
  • Evaluate competitive landscape to monitor strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships interdepartmentally to ensure smooth execution of each event component.
  • Continually keeps their finger on the pulse of what’s happening (both in New York City and nationally), including new venues, potential event collaborations of relevance, vendors, and potential entertainment, and presents these opportunities in a weekly team status meeting.  
  • Translates global marketing and branding goals into local marketing and PR strategies to promote the brand.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across Calvin Klein global offices on all of the above planning efforts, including master events calendar to ensure consistency of messaging and a streamlined consumer experience.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:  

  • 5+ years of experience in Luxury and/or lifestyle marketing, branding experience and event production, ideally with a mix of agency and corporate in-house experience. Categories considered: fashion, hospitality, consumer tech, entertainment, retail, beauty, design, etc.
  • Experience with Global teams, licensee partners and regional markets preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience of project ownership within Events.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Possess deep understanding and knowledge of brand and full range of all products to convey Calvin Klein heritage and values.   
  • Agile in maneuvering across a large and complex organization with the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset to make things happen.
  • Able to think at a high strategic level, anticipating future customer needs and wants.
  • Ability to manage and navigate professionally in high-stress environments.
  • Able to adapt to the team culture and is passionate about becoming part of it.  
  • Strong knowledge of modern tools and technology that supports the function. 
  • Must be able to conceptualize and execute projects from beginning to end with an ability to adhere to timelines and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Detailed oriented with exceptional time management and execution capabilities.
  • Must be extremely resourceful.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, Pinterest and other popular or emerging sites and how to leverage them to support the marketing and branding functions.   
  • Must have industry related experience in Fashion and/or Events with cultivated industry relationships across agencies, vendors, and venues.
  • Must have strong brand appropriate aesthetic and excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills – both written and verbal. 
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and be proactive.
