The Copywriter, eCommerce writes accurate, on-brand and engaging product descriptions as well marketing copy, ensuring the Tommy Hilfiger voice is clear, concise and consistent. They are also responsible for reviewing product descriptions, marketing copy, hyperlinks and imagery, to confirm all content manifests accurately on the live site, correcting and editing in the CMS based on their own findings, as well as collective team feedback.    

The role requires high attention to detail and collaboration between many cross-functional teams, including (but not limited to): Content Management, Media, Brand Marketing, Buying, Planning, Editorial, IT, and the Global and Regional Ecommerce leadership teams. The associate is expected to plan and execute with a focus on clear communication, campaign and business management with cross-functional partners, and mindful execution of larger business-driving strategy.

Responsibilities:

PRODUCT COPY

  • Write 400+ product styles per month
  • Collect and organize all product knowledge from PLM, Scene 7, CADs and Global Marketing Decks to inform product copy
  • Perform ongoing follow up with Buying Team to obtain product details as needed
  • Attend cross-functional team meetings relevant to product
  • Identify key product details across all divisions to communicate value proposition to the customer
  • Proofread all product copy prior to submission to Copy Manager, checking spelling, grammar and formatting
  • Archive all product descriptions to templatize and expedite copywriting process

QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • Execute daily product copy upload to product information tool (PIM) and QA for issues during upload process, correct as needed
  • Review all product copy, imagery and hyperlinks to ensure content is accurate on the live site
  • Correct errors found in staging and after activation pushes to live site

EMAIL / MARKETING

  • Utilize Milled.com to keep abreast of TH competitive set to inspire and inform creative brainstorming sessions
  • Contribute engaging subject lines based on market trends and past TH conversion success
  • Assist with marketing copy rounds in Workfront, collaborating with studio copywriter
  • On occasion, review marketing copy assets for accuracy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of related industry experience, preferably in eCommerce

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skill as well as interpersonal skill
  • Highly organized and can manage multiple projects with adherence to deadlines
  • Thrives working autonomously, takes initiative to gather information if unclear on tasks
  • Creative flair with ability to tailor voice according to varying demographics
  • Avid online shopper brings informed POV to meetings
  • Understanding of intuitive UX and e-commerce visual presentation
  • Ability to handle high volume writing and deliver upon deadlines
  • Desire to innovate quickly as part of a nimble, entrepreneurial team
  • Ability to self-manage and take initiative based on direction of the Copy Manager and/or Senior Editor, eCommerce
  • Able to handle multiple projects with adherence to deadlines and be highly organized

  • Able to work independently as well as on group projects and be self-motivated and confident with some decision making

  • Able to manage up, down and across with positive results

  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, premium fashion environment. Desire to innovate quickly as part of a nimble, entrepreneurial team within an iconic, established American brand
