Summary:

The Director, Marketing Capabilities will lead the marketing capabilities and marketing training efforts across the Prepared Foods (Retail Food Service) business segment of Tyson Foods. This person will ensure the entire marketing organization has a clear and common understanding of Tyson’s marketing philosophy and will build the team’s marketing capabilities in key focus areas. She/he will build the training curriculum then work with both internal partners and external suppliers to execute the programs. As a result of this role, our marketing organization will be unified in common approaches to grow Tyson’s brands for the long term. This role is part of the Marketing Communications & Design team and will report to the VP, Marketing Communications & Design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Develop a long range strategic plan and roadmap for marketing training at Tyson Foods that meets the needs of marketers at all levels.

Lead all aspects of the planning and execution of Tyson’s SPARK Marketing Fundamentals training program.

Lead the creation of a bespoke Tyson Marketing philosophy & corresponding marketing approaches in partnership with external consultant. Operationalize the marketing philosophy by integrating it into the SPARK training curriculum.

Work with marketing leaders to evolve SPARK curriculum as new business and consumer challenges emerge and marketing capabilities advance.

Manage relationships with internal contributors and external suppliers involved in the SPARK program.

Continuously explore partnership opportunities with outside suppliers to keep SPARK content fresh for marketers

Create and manage all communications related to the SPARK program, including the management of a web portal used for meeting registration, content, and communication.

Emcee all scheduled SPARK training meetings, both in-person and virtual

In partnership with a coordinator, oversee all event logistics for the SPARK training programs and events


Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in advertising, communications, business, marketing or a related field

Experience: 10 years of marketing experience. Direct experience in capability development or marketing training programs required.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with entry-level marketers up through c-suite members.

Special Skills: Ability to articulate a compelling vision of success and maintain a relentless focus on delivering results; proven experience building marketing capabilities for future organizational growth; ability to manage several projects, cross-functional teams and external resources.

Supervisory: May manage a team member who will support training execution tasks

Travel: 6-10 domestic trips per year
