To get a job at an advertising agency you must have some of the similar traits. These common traits are as follows: Superior communication skills, every part of the advertising agency requires you have impeccable communication skills verbally in person, over the telephone and written. You must be able to articulate the advertising design and concept to the client and the creative department; this is a very important trait. Communication skills are important in the advertising industry for the reason that everything within the agency is deadline driven if one detail is not properly communicated the deadline could be missed and client unsatisfied.

Most advertising agency professionals in the industry are strategic thinkers they sort thorough data and identify what is critical, interpret the data and apply it in the correct manner to drive business for clients or create new business for the company they work for. Creativity is important not just or the creative department but for all professionals within every department of the advertising agency whether it be to create an attractive original advertising campaigns or to solve a problem from a different angle, generate new business or find a better way of meeting deadlines, everyone in the industry must be creative in some ways. The key ingredient to running a successful advertising agency is team work everyone in the industry must be able to work within a team setting. Within the advertising agency it is a highly stressful operation that must run smoothly to get advertising assembled and placed in the proper medium on time; in order to do this everyone within the team must work well together as a team.
