Getting into an advertising career can be a daunting experience, inorder to make sure you stand out from the pile of possible candidates write a stand out advertising resume.

If you want to stand out make your resume stand out. There are many ways today to get a professional looking resume, one way is to hire a resume writing service it is expensive way but you will have a beautiful resume. In today's computer world it is easy to create you own professional resume without spending money on a professional service. You may want to consider purchasing a resume writing program, if not just use the program on your computers operating system, but make sure to always spell check. When writing your resume the content of your resume should be accurate and never exaggerated.

First examine what position you want to interviewed for within the advertising industry. Now to begin writing your advertising resume. At the top of the resume you will want to put all of your contact information such as your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. After your contact information will want to put down your employment objective, the name of the position you are applying for.

A professional resume is broken down in three different areas. Education, experience and references.



Education

List your education experience and anything within your educational experience that can help you attain the position. Focus on the advertising or marketing education you have received. Advertising clubs or organizations you were in would be great listed here. If you have a high grade point average or academic honors don’t forget to list them here also.

Experience

Previous employment and experience should be listed here. If you have been employed for a long length of time make sure to point that out. In the advertising industry they look for employee that can stick with a company for a long period of time, this shows loyalty. Being the stressful nature of the advertising industry it can be hard for them to hold on to entry level employees they like to see your loyalty. You don’t what to show allot of gaps in employment long unemployed gaps can show your unwillingness to want to be employed. If you worked as intern be sure to state that here, many employers like to see you have some experience within the advertising industry.

References

When placing references place them on a separate sheet of the resume. Typically three references are used; place the contact information next to the contact name. When choosing a reference make sure they know you have put them down for a reference.

When you have completed your resume be sure to save it, proof read it and spell check. Always update your resume with new information.
